Gift ideas for the Baby Shower Hostess

All soon-to-be and new moms, this one’s for you. If you recently had a baby shower, be mindful that your hostess took a lot of time and effort to make your celebration a success. Because of her superb planning skills, you were able to spend time with your loved ones, enjoy a nice meal, and you got lots of great gifts for your little bundle of joy.

So give your hostess a small gift as a token of your appreciation. It doesn’t have to be anything expensive. Just something that says “thank you”. I believe gift cards are always best. With a gift card, the hostess can get exactly what she wants. But some people think gift cards are a little impersonal, like money. So, if you want some other ideas, take a look at the list below:

Purse – What woman doesn’t like a nice purse? You can find some fashionable and inexpensive ones at stores such as Target and Macy’s.

Manicure/Pedicure kit – You’re the one carrying the baby, so nobody deserves as much R&R as you. But, the hostess has been doing a lot of running around lately. So this gift idea is sure to be well received.

“Thank You” gift basket – A small basket with chocolates or gourmet food.

Victoria’s Secret or Bath and Body Works lotion set - If you don’t know her favorite fragrance, give her a variety to choose from.

Spa Certificate – Treat her to an awesome massage!

Gift card to her favorite restaurant – In this case, giving a gift card won’t seem impersonal at all. It’s just like giving her a plate of her favorite dish.

Jewelry – This gift idea depends on your budget. Some women do not like costume jewelry. If this is the case with your hostess, you can find high quality and reasonably priced jewelry and popular department stores.

House plant or flowers – A nice piece of home décor that's very affordable.

Artwork or photo – If you have an old picture of the two of you together, get it digitally enhanced and put it in a nice frame. And write her a personal note on the back.

Picture of the new baby – When the baby arrives, you’ll be so excited to start clicking away with your camera. Give your hostess a small photo collection of your new little one.

This list is just a few of the many possibilities for hostess gifts. Remember, no matter what you choose, it’s the thought that counts.
